Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of JobAnvil, a desktop application published by Astroloye LLC ("we", "us"). By installing or using JobAnvil, you agree to these terms.

1. License

JobAnvil is licensed, not sold. A valid license key grants you a perpetual, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use JobAnvil on your personal computers. One license covers one individual user across their own devices.

2. Third-Party Services

JobAnvil integrates with third-party services that have their own terms:

• AI Providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, Mistral, Groq): You use your own API key and are responsible for complying with your provider's terms and managing your own billing. Astroloye LLC is not responsible for charges incurred through your AI provider.
• Email Providers (Gmail, personal Microsoft, iCloud, Yahoo, IMAP): You authorize JobAnvil to access your email. You are responsible for complying with your email provider's terms of service.
• Job Boards (Greenhouse, Lever, RSS): JobAnvil accesses publicly available job listing data.
• LinkedIn (via browser extension): The optional browser extension captures job listings and profile data from LinkedIn. You are responsible for complying with LinkedIn's terms of service.
• Workday: JobAnvil can retrieve listings from Workday career pages using an undocumented internal API. This may not be sanctioned by Workday. By enabling Workday feeds, you accept the risk that this access could be restricted or could violate Workday's terms.

3. AI Costs

JobAnvil's AI features use your own API key with your chosen provider. You are solely responsible for all API charges incurred by your usage. Typical daily usage costs a few cents, but costs vary by provider, model, and volume. Monitor your provider's billing dashboard.

4. Data and Privacy

All data stays on your computer. See our Privacy Policy for details on what data is accessed and how it is protected.

5. No Warranty

JobAnvil is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that job listings are accurate, complete, or current; that AI-generated content is correct or suitable; or that the software will operate without interruption or error.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Astroloye LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of JobAnvil, including but not limited to: lost job opportunities, incorrect AI assessments, third-party API charges, or data loss. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for your JobAnvil license.

7. Updates

JobAnvil may check for updates and offer to install them. Updates are optional. We may change features, add new integrations, or modify pricing for future versions. Your existing license remains valid for the version you purchased.

8. Termination

You may stop using JobAnvil at any time by uninstalling it. We may revoke a license key if we determine it was obtained fraudulently or is being shared in violation of these terms.

9. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be noted in release notes. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
